Two Flags Waving Atop Motel Sign — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1964, this vintage home movie captures the Greenwood Lake Motel & Cottages sign in New York. Two flags flutter atop the sign against a backdrop of dense trees and a utility pole. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s documentary or commercial edits needing a brief roadside motel sign cutaway from Greenwood Lake, New York, on 8mm home-movie film.
Period detail: The red-letter motel-and-cottages sign, advertised swim suites, boating, fishing, flags, utility pole, and simple roadside setting point to mid-century resort travel.
Home-movie behavior: The clip carries a visitor-shot roadside perspective, pausing on a local motel sign rather than staging action or formal architecture coverage.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include the Greenwood Lake Motel & Cottages sign, two flags, dense trees, a utility pole, roadside grass, a pale fence, and red sign lettering.
Film character: The 8mm footage shows soft focus, visible grain, slight color fading, exposure variation, and contact-print framing that add physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short insert, travel transition, resort-town establishing detail, or memory beat between broader vacation scenes.
Historical context: The frame reflects automobile-era leisure lodging and lake-resort advertising, while the visible evidence is limited to the sign and roadside setting.
Research note: The motel name and sign lettering are visible, so trademark or location identification should be reviewed separately from film copyright clearance.
Research search match: Search matches include 1960s Greenwood Lake motel sign, New York roadside lodging, 8mm vacation footage, vintage cottages sign, and mid-century lake resort.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1964 Greenwood Lake material, then broader roadside motel, lake resort, or summer travel footage.
