Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm lake recreation footage suited for documentary cutaways about summer boating, leisure travel, or mid-century vacation memory.
Period detail: The small motorboats, sailboat, lakeside houses, and soft 8mm color may show a 1964 recreational scene on Greenwood Lake.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has the unstaged feel of a home-movie observer watching boats cross the lake from shore or a nearby window.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include open lake water, a sailboat, speedboats with white wakes, wooded hills, distant shoreline houses, pale sky, and dark frame edges.
Film character: The scan carries purple-blue color shift, fine grain, gate edges, slight softness, and handheld framing typical of aged 8mm home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, transition, or memory beat for lake vacations, boating, summer recreation, or regional New York leisure.
Historical context: The scene reflects recreational boating on a wooded lakeside setting, with no visible crowds, signage, or identifiable people in the sampled frames.
Research note: No people, faces, logos, or readable brands are visible, but copyright status and any location or property concerns should still be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Useful search phrases include 1960s 8mm Greenwood Lake boating, vintage New York lake recreation, speedboat wake home movie, and sailboat on lake footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then other Greenwood Lake 1964 material, then broader 1960s lake boating and summer recreation footage.
