Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm lake-vacation footage suited for documentary or educational inserts about leisure travel, boating, and regional summer recreation in New York.
Period detail: The 1964 metadata, small open motorboat, casual shoreline viewing, and saturated 8mm color may show a mid-1960s summer outing on Greenwood Lake.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes from shore as a motorboat passes, with nearby adult men briefly entering the foreground in an unstaged vacation-viewing moment.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue lake water, wooded hills, pale sky, a small motorboat, white wake, dark film-frame borders, and two foreground men in one frame.
Film character: The scan carries 8mm home-movie texture with visible grain, vertical scratches, soft focus, slight color shift, and handheld framing through dark film edges.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a quiet cutaway, transition, or memory beat for lakeside recreation, family vacation, or mid-century outdoor leisure sequences.
Historical context: The footage documents a recreational lake setting where boating and shoreline watching appear as everyday leisure rather than a staged public event.
Research note: People are visible in the foreground, so likeness review may be needed; no logos, music, or private property are apparent from these frames.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1960s 8mm Greenwood Lake motorboat, vintage New York lake vacation, home movie boating scene, and wooded lakeshore summer footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1964 Greenwood Lake views, then broader 1960s home-movie boating or lakeside vacation material.
