Man Swimming Joyfully In Lake With Pool Ladder — Clip Details

A man swims energetically through the water at Greenwood Lake, New York, in this 1964 8mm home movie. Shot on vintage Super 8 film, the clip captures him mid-stroke with splashing water and a joyful expression, his bald head visible above the surface. The footage shows natural film grain, slight color fading, and vertical scratches typical of 8mm home recordings. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s documentary or educational edits needing authentic home-movie footage of lakeside recreation and informal swimming in New York.
Period detail: The clip shows a mid-century 8mm home-movie view of open water, a swimmer, and simple white ladder rails that may indicate a private dock or lakeside swimming area.
Home-movie behavior: The man swims energetically toward and past the camera, giving the clip an unstaged family-film feeling of summer leisure and playful movement.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a bald adult man in lake water, splashing arms, rippled blue surface, white ladder rails, film frame borders, scratches, and soft faded color.
Film character: The footage carries visible 8mm grain, mild color fade, vertical scratches, gate edges, and uneven exposure that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, memory beat, or transition for mid-century summer, lake vacation, swimming, or family recreation sequences.
Historical context: The scene reflects ordinary recreational swimming and home filming at Greenwood Lake in 1964 without showing identifiable landmarks or organized public events.
Research note: One adult face is visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos, minors, audible music, or clear private property are visible from the supplied frames.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1964 Greenwood Lake swimming footage, 1960s 8mm lake recreation, vintage home movie swimmer, and mid-century summer leisure.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then Greenwood Lake or 1964 material, then broader 1960s lake vacation and swimming home movies.
