Barge Inn On The Lake Followed By Projector Lights — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1963, this vintage home movie captures a scenic lakeside view in Idaho. A large red building with a white roof, identified as the Barge Inn, sits on the water's edge with a dock extending into the lake. The footage, viewed through a film projector's frame, shows gentle water movement and a hillside backdrop. The clip concludes with a dark frame and a burst of bright, circular lights, characteristic of old film projection. The image quality features classic 8mm grain and a distinct purple color cast.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s Idaho home-movie requests needing a lakeside inn, dock, water view, or projector-framed transition for documentary or education edits.
Period detail: The red lakeside building, dock railings, muted signage, and 8mm projection framing may show a mid-1960s recreational waterfront scene in Idaho.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot perspective from across or on the lake, holding on the waterfront building as a remembered travel view rather than a staged scene.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a red building with a pale roof, dock, lake water, hillside, trees, shoreline structures, projector frame edges, and later dark projection frames.
Film character: The footage carries 8mm grain, soft focus, slight handheld framing, a purple color cast, and projector-gate borders that give it clear physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a scenic cutaway, travel-memory insert, Idaho lake establishing detail, or transition into projector-light imagery.
Historical context: The scene documents a leisure waterfront setting as recorded by a home-movie camera, with built shoreline features set against water, trees, and hills.
Research note: No people are visible, but the building signage or identified inn name may involve trademark or location research separate from copyright review.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1963 Idaho 8mm lake footage, vintage lakeside inn, home movie waterfront dock, Barge Inn lake view, and projector light transition.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent frames from the same reel, then with 1963 Idaho lake footage, then with other vintage waterfront travel or projector-gate clips.
