Well-Dressed Guests Sitting At Table And Dancing At... — Clip Details

NEW YORK-1954: A vintage 8mm home movie captures a formal party in the 1950s. Well-dressed guests in tuxedos and elegant dresses sit at a decorated table with glassware and bottles, then transition to dancing in a dimly lit room. The footage shows a young man in a suit with a boutonniere and a woman in a black dress, with other couples embracing on the dance floor. The grainy, color-bleached quality of the Super 8 film evokes a nostalgic, authentic mid-century atmosphere.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s New York formal-party requests needing authentic home-movie footage of seated guests, table settings, and couples dancing.
Period detail: Visible period clues include dark suits, boutonniere, sleeveless dresses, table glassware, bottled drinks, and a dim formal interior that fits the supplied 1954 home-movie metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged family-film feel, with guests looking toward the camera at the table and couples moving closely on a crowded dance floor.
What appears in frame: The frames show seated well-dressed guests, table candles or lamps, glassware, bottles, ashtray-like table items, patterned dresses, suits, and couples dancing indoors.
Film character: The 8mm scan carries soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure, color fading, and handheld framing that provide period home-movie texture.
Edit role: Editors could use it as a short insert, social-life cutaway, party transition, or memory beat within a mid-century New York sequence.
Historical context: The footage visually documents a private formal gathering in the 1950s, emphasizing dress, dining-table etiquette, and social dancing rather than a public event.
Research note: People, faces, branded or label-like bottles, and a private interior are visible, so likeness, property, and trademark review may be needed apart from copyright status.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1954 New York formal party 8mm, 1950s guests at table, vintage home movie dancing, and mid-century private celebration footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other New York 1954 material, then broader 1950s parties, formal dinners, and dancing scenes.
