Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s New York leisure, swimming, pool recreation, or mid-century home-movie sequences needing an older woman in candid summer activity.
Period detail: The swim cap, simple dark swimsuit, sunlit outdoor pool, and 8mm color rendering support a mid-century domestic recreation setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged home-movie value as the woman smiles toward the camera, then moves through the pool while another swimmer remains nearby.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a smiling woman in a swim cap, black swimsuit, pool water, blue pool edging, sunlight, splashing, and another swimmer.
Film character: The footage shows 8mm home-movie texture with soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure, handheld framing, and saturated blue-green pool tones.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, summer recreation cutaway, family-memory beat, or transition into mid-century swimming and leisure material.
Historical context: The scene reflects everyday recreational swimming and home-movie attention to family or social leisure without showing identifiable public landmarks.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness and privacy review may be needed in addition to copyright and source-rights checks.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1950s New York swimming pool home movie, older woman swim cap, vintage 8mm pool recreation, and mid-century summer leisure.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other New York 1951 pool scenes, then broader 1950s recreation and swimming footage.
