Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s New York home-movie requests needing brief summer recreation footage of a swimmer in an outdoor pool.
Period detail: The clip may show early-1950s leisure through an outdoor pool, simple lawn border, trees, and the color 8mm home-movie look.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer smiles toward the camera while paddling and turning in the water, giving the shot an unstaged family-film quality.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a lone swimmer, rippled pool water, splashes, a pale pool edge, grass, trees, and dark 8mm frame borders.
Film character: The scan carries soft focus, visible grain, slight color fading, uneven exposure, and handheld framing typical of small-gauge home movies.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short summer-memory insert, recreation cutaway, or transition beat within a family, childhood, or leisure sequence.
Historical context: The footage reflects private leisure and outdoor swimming as preserved in a domestic home-movie record, without identifying a specific pool or household.
Research note: A visible face and possible likeness rights require review; copyright, location, and property considerations should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Search match phrases include 1950s New York 8mm swimming pool, vintage home movie swimmer, summer recreation footage, and outdoor pool home movie.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with 1951 New York home movies, then with broader summer swimming and family recreation footage.
