Boy Operating Manual Water Pump in Rural Field — Clip Details

ILLINOIS USA-1947: A young boy in a dark blue shirt and pants stands barefoot in a grassy field, operating a green manual water pump. He pulls the long lever up and down with effort, his face tilted upward in concentration. The scene unfolds in a rural setting under a pale sky, with open fields stretching into the distance. The footage, shot on 8mm film, shows natural film grain, slight color fading, and a soft focus characteristic of vintage home movies. The boy's simple clothing and the rustic pump evoke a nostalgic, everyday moment from mid-20th century America.
