The Many Ways Of Transportation — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1971, this vintage home movie captures a rainy day at a Soviet exhibition or transport hub in Moscow. People in period-appropriate coats and dresses walk across a wet, reflective pavement, their reflections shimmering in the puddles. A distinctive white and blue articulated people mover, a common form of public transport in the USSR, transports passengers past a modern glass-fronted building. The scene, with its muted colors and film grain, evokes a strong sense of nostalgia and everyday life in the Soviet era.
