Group Of Three Men With One Smoking Another One Rowing A — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1971, this vintage home movie captures three men in a small green rowboat on a calm river in Moscow, Russia. One man in a dark suit smokes while seated at the front, another in a green jacket and hat rows steadily, and a third man in a suit sits at the rear. The scene unfolds under a soft, overcast sky with lush green trees lining the waterway. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain, color fading, and a nostalgic, candid quality, evoking mid-20th century leisure and personal memory. Ideal for historical documentaries, editorial content, or retro-themed projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s Moscow home-movie requests needing casual river leisure, small-boat travel, or candid adult group footage for documentary or editorial use.
Period detail: The men's suits, brimmed hat, small metal rowboat, and faded 8mm color may show early 1970s leisure dress and amateur filming style in Moscow.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves unstaged behavior as three men sit close together in a rowboat, with one rowing, one smoking, and the group drifting through a quiet waterway.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include three adult men, a green rowboat, oars, rippled river water, tree-lined banks, reeds or low shrubs, and an overcast sky.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm grain, slight color fading, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that give it a candid physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, river cutaway, leisure transition, or memory beat within a sequence about Soviet-era everyday life or travel.
Historical context: The scene shows ordinary adults on the water rather than public events or landmarks, offering social context around informal recreation and personal filming.
Research note: Adult faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos, private property, or minors are apparent, and copyright clearance remains separate from permissions.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1971 Moscow 8mm home movie, three men in rowboat, Soviet-era river leisure, smoking man in boat, and vintage rowing footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel Moscow home-movie scenes, then other 1971 Moscow outdoor footage, then broader 1970s boating or leisure clips.
