Various Men On A Pier Observing Flooded Landscape — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1971, this vintage home movie captures a group of men in business attire observing a flooded landscape from a wooden pier. The scene, likely in Moscow, Russia, shows water covering the ground with a small shack partially submerged and a crane visible in the foreground. The men, some wearing sunglasses and ties, appear to be assessing the environmental situation, with one adjusting his tie. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 color saturation and grain, offering a nostalgic look at a historical moment of flooding.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s editorial projects needing home-movie footage of men observing floodwater or waterfront conditions near Moscow.
Period detail: Business shirts, ties, sunglasses, and the 8mm color stock support an early 1970s setting, while the exact site within Moscow should be treated cautiously.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged value in the way the men gather, look down from the pier, and appear to assess the flooded scene rather than pose formally.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a wooden pier, crane hook, flooded shoreline, small shed, trees, men in shirts and ties, sunglasses, and still water.
Film character: The footage shows 8mm color grain, soft focus, slight exposure variation, and handheld framing that give it a period home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief cutaway, environmental observation insert, or transition into a sequence about flooding, infrastructure, or field inspection.
Historical context: The frames show adult men in business attire gathered at a waterside location where floodwater covers low ground around a small structure.
Research note: Faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed, and copyright status should be assessed separately from any people or location concerns.
Research search match: Search match phrases include 1971 Moscow flood home movie, 8mm men on pier, Soviet-era waterfront inspection, and flooded landscape cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then other 1971 Moscow waterfront material, then broader archival footage of flooding or environmental observation.
