Family Thanksgiving Dinner with Turkey and Wine — Clip Details

NEW YORK-1949: A vintage 8mm home movie captures a family Thanksgiving dinner. A woman in a striped dress serves a roasted turkey, while a man in a light shirt and dark tie raises a glass of wine. The table is set with plates, a bowl of dark raspberry sauce, and a red candle in a brass holder. The warm, slightly grainy footage evokes nostalgia for mid-century American holiday traditions.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s New York home-movie requests needing Thanksgiving dinner, family holiday dining, or mid-century domestic celebration footage.
Period detail: The table setting, roast turkey, red candle, stemware, and formal shirt-and-tie attire support a late-1940s domestic holiday setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves informal family behavior as food is served and a seated man raises a glass toward the camera inside a private home.
What appears in frame: Visible details include a roasted turkey, striped dress, set plates, dark sauce in a bowl, red taper candle, wine glass, bottle, cabinet, and seated adults.
Film character: The 8mm footage has warm color, visible grain, soft focus, handheld framing, and slight exposure variation typical of scanned home movies.
Edit role: Editors could use this as a short insert, holiday memory beat, domestic cutaway, or transition into family dining and Thanksgiving sequences.
Historical context: The footage shows a mid-century American holiday meal in a private interior, emphasizing family table rituals rather than public events.
Research note: People and a private interior are visible, so likeness and property review may be needed in addition to any copyright assessment.
Research search match: Search matches include 1949 New York Thanksgiving home movie, 8mm family dinner, vintage turkey dinner, and mid-century holiday table footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel family scenes, then New York 1949 interiors, then broader Thanksgiving, holiday meal, and family dining footage.
