Woman Singing Into Microphone On Stage — Clip Details

A woman in a black and white patterned dress with a black bow sings into a vintage microphone on a dimly lit stage. She wears a pearl necklace and a large pink hair accessory, her expression animated as she performs. A man in a suit stands behind her, partially visible. The footage, shot on 8mm film in 1948, captures the intimate atmosphere of a live performance with warm lighting and classic mid-century style. The grainy texture and color palette evoke a nostalgic, archival feel.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1940s New York home-movie footage for documentary or editorial sequences needing a brief nightclub, studio, or small-stage singer performance moment.
Period detail: The dress, pearl necklace, large hair accessory, and chrome microphone may show mid-century performance styling consistent with the supplied 1948 date.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the candid, close-range filming of a performer smiling, turning, and gesturing during a live song rather than a staged production setup.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a female singer, vintage microphone, patterned strapless dress with black bow, pearl necklace, pink hair accessory, curtain backdrop, and a suited man nearby.
Film character: The 8mm footage has warm stage exposure, visible grain, soft focus, and slight handheld framing that give the performance an intimate home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, musical memory beat, nightlife cutaway, or transition into a mid-century entertainment sequence.
Historical context: The clip visually suggests small-venue entertainment culture through formal dress, a close microphone setup, and spectators or accompanists near the stage.
Research note: People and faces are visible and audible music is flagged, so likeness, performer identity, venue context, and music rights need review separate from film copyright.
Research search match: Useful search phrases include 1948 New York singer on stage, 8mm home movie nightclub performance, woman singing vintage microphone, and 1940s live music footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other New York 1948 material, then broader 1940s performance, nightlife, or home-movie music scenes.
