Man Leans Over To Allow Woman To Kiss His Cheek — Clip Details

NEW YORK-1948: A man in a dark suit and tie leans toward a woman in an elegant dress and headpiece, allowing her to kiss his cheek in a tender moment. The couple, surrounded by other formally dressed guests, shares a warm, intimate interaction at a dimly lit evening event. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures the rich textures of mid-century fashion, including tailored suits, patterned ties, and sparkling jewelry, all under soft, atmospheric lighting. The grainy, nostalgic quality of the Super 8 home movie evokes a sense of personal history and timeless romance.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s New York editorial projects needing a brief formal-party or affectionate social interaction from real 8mm home-movie footage.
Period detail: The tailored dark suits, narrow ties, formal dress, earrings, and decorative headpiece support a late-1940s evening-event reading.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in an unstaged close social moment as guests smile, lean together, and react to a cheek kiss in a crowded dim room.
What appears in frame: Visible details include formally dressed adults, dark suits, ties, eyeglasses, sparkling earrings, a decorative headpiece, and low event lighting.
Film character: The 8mm scan has dense grain, warm color shifts, soft focus, and uneven exposure that give the short scene clear physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as an insert, memory beat, or social cutaway for mid-century romance, celebration, or family-event sequences.
Historical context: The clip documents formal adult social behavior and dress in a private or semi-private evening gathering without identifying the event or venue.
Research note: Several identifiable adult faces are visible, so likeness and context review may be needed separately from any copyright assessment.
Research search match: Researcher searches might include 1948 New York home movie formal party, 1940s couple kiss cheek, 8mm evening event, or mid-century guests in suits.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1948 New York clips, then broader 1940s formal gathering or affectionate couple footage.
