Combine Harvester on Display with People — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1963, this vintage footage captures a large agricultural machine, likely a combine harvester, on display in Russia. A group of people, dressed in period attire, stand nearby observing the equipment. The scene is set outdoors, with trees in the background, and the grainy, monochrome quality of the Super 8 film adds to its authentic archival feel. The footage offers a glimpse into mid-20th century rural life and technological exhibits.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s Soviet-era archival requests needing agricultural technology, exhibition displays, or public observation cutaways for documentary and educational edits.
Period detail: The footage may show a mid-20th-century agricultural machine display, with period clothing, monochrome 8mm texture, and visible machinery details supporting the 1963 Russia metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has visitor-shot value, showing people standing near the machinery and observing it from an informal public viewing position.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a large combine or agricultural machine, a wheeled cart-like apparatus, railings, trees, suited adults, hats, and dark film-frame borders.
Film character: The 8mm scan has heavy grain, soft focus, high-contrast monochrome exposure, and slight framing shifts that read as authentic home-movie archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, insert, or transition for agricultural modernization, public exhibits, machinery displays, or Soviet-era everyday observation.
Historical context: The scene visually situates industrial agricultural equipment in a public outdoor setting, with adults gathered nearby rather than actively operating the machine.
Research note: People and a visible emblem or marking on the machine require likeness and brand or institutional identification review; copyright and reuse clearance should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Searches such as 1960s Russia 8mm agricultural machinery display, Soviet combine harvester exhibit, or home movie people viewing farm equipment may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel machinery or exhibition shots, then with other Russia 1963 material, then with broader agricultural technology or public display footage.
