Bird Flies Over Field Then Lake View — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1967, this vintage home movie captures a serene natural landscape from Saint Petersburg, Russia. The footage begins with a view of trees and a body of water, then transitions to a wide shot of a lake or pond under a hazy sky. A bird flies across the frame over an open field, with distant treelines visible. The image shows classic Super 8 film characteristics: grain, scratches, and slight color fading, evoking a nostalgic, archival feel. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm nature footage from the Saint Petersburg, Russia area for documentary inserts, archival transitions, or quiet editorial atmosphere.
Period detail: The frames may show mid-century home-movie outdoor travel imagery, with no visible landmarks, signage, vehicles, or dress to independently date the scene beyond the 1967 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged observer's view, lingering on water, treeline, open field, and a small bird crossing the landscape.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include lake or pond water, a distant treeline, open field, hazy sky, a small flying bird, soft foliage, film gate edges, and surface scratches.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows faded color, grain, vertical scratches, soft focus, exposure variation, and visible frame borders that give the scene its physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a quiet cutaway, nature transition, travel-memory beat, or atmospheric bridge between broader 1960s home-movie sequences.
Historical context: The footage provides a modest visual record of leisure or travel-era landscape filming, without identifiable people, buildings, or public events in the sampled frames.
Research note: No people, logos, or private property are visible in these frames, but copyright, location verification, and any broader reel context should still be reviewed.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1967 8mm Russia nature footage, Saint Petersburg lake home movie, Soviet-era field and bird cutaway, and vintage pond landscape film.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1967 Saint Petersburg material, then broader 1960s Russia nature, lakeside, or travel-home-movie footage.
