Family Picnic Reunion — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1967, this vintage home movie captures a family picnic reunion in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The footage shows a table laden with food—bread, sausages, and dishes—alongside a dark bottle and a salt shaker. A person in a patterned shirt is partially visible, and the scene is filled with the warm, slightly faded colors and film grain characteristic of Super 8 home movies. The handheld camera movement adds to the intimate, nostalgic feel of this archival family moment.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s Soviet-era home-movie picnic material for documentary, museum, education, or editorial sequences needing intimate family gathering footage.
Period detail: The table setting, 8mm color stock, casual clothing, and picnic foods may show everyday family leisure in Saint Petersburg in the late 1960s.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the unstaged handling of shared food and tableware as people move around a crowded picnic table.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include bread, sausages, serving dishes, bowls, plates, a dark bottle, a salt shaker, and partial adult arms at the table.
Film character: The clip has soft focus, visible grain, faded color, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that preserve its physical 8mm home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief food-table insert, reunion cutaway, family-memory beat, or transition into a broader picnic scene.
Historical context: The footage documents a private outdoor meal and suggests ordinary family social life without identifying individuals or making broader historical claims.
Research note: People, possible faces, and visible product or object markings require likeness and brand review separate from any footage copyright assessment.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1967 Russian family picnic 8mm, Saint Petersburg home movie reunion, Soviet family meal footage, and vintage picnic table cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Saint Petersburg 1967 material, then broader 1960s family picnic or reunion footage.
