Grassy Field Surrounded by Trees — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1967, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched grassy field surrounded by dense trees and brush in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 characteristics: soft focus, warm purple and green color tones, and visible film grain. The camera remains mostly static, offering a quiet, naturalistic view of the landscape under bright daylight. The image quality reflects the era’s amateur film stock, with slight flicker and surface imperfections. This archival clip evokes a sense of nostalgia and offers authentic period atmosphere for historical or editorial projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s archival productions needing a quiet outdoor landscape insert from home-movie footage in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Period detail: The frames show an unmarked grassy field and dense trees, with period detail coming mainly from the 8mm home-movie format and 1967 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The static, observational framing suggests an amateur camera paused on a nearby field rather than a staged scenic composition.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include lawn grass, low brush, leafy trees, shaded background growth, bright daylight, and heavy frame-edge vignetting.
Film character: The clip carries a soft 8mm texture with purple-green color shift, visible grain, flicker, scratches, and uneven exposure across the frame.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, transitional pause, memory beat, or environmental insert between more specific 1960s Russia material.
Historical context: The view provides general outdoor context for a residential or park-like setting, but no landmark, event, or public institution is identifiable.
Research note: No people, logos, or obvious private property are visible, but copyright status and location identification should be checked separately.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1967 8mm Saint Petersburg grassy field, Soviet-era home movie trees, or vintage summer landscape cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel material, then with Saint Petersburg 1967 footage, then with other 1960s outdoor nature or field scenes.
