Official Government Speedboats Conduct River Patrol — Clip Details

VERSAILLES FRANCE-1962: Vintage 8mm film captures official government speedboats navigating a river. The first frames show a small white motorboat with two passengers cruising near a sandy shore where people relax. The scene shifts to a larger, more robust boat with a white cabin and dark hull, operated by a man in a white cap. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain, color shifts, and slight camera shake, evoking a nostalgic 1960s home movie aesthetic. This archival clip offers authentic period footage for documentaries, historical projects, or nostalgic content.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s French riverside transport, patrol, or leisure-waterway cutaways in documentary and educational edits.
Period detail: The footage may show early-1960s small motor craft, painted cabin boats, open riverbanks, and casual shoreline activity in France.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes passing boats from a distant visitor viewpoint, preserving the casual timing and framing of home-movie travel footage.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include river water, a small open motorboat, a larger cabin boat, a white-capped operator, shoreline figures, pilings, and film gate edges.
Film character: The 8mm scan carries soft focus, visible grain, color shift, mild exposure variation, and handheld instability as part of its archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a waterway insert, patrol or transport cutaway, location transition, or brief 1960s travel-memory beat.
Historical context: The clip places small powered boats in a public riverside setting, with official or uniform-like presence suggested by the operator's cap and metadata.
Research note: People and possible boat markings are visible, so likeness, logo, and contextual claims should be reviewed separately from copyright status.
Research search match: Searches for 1962 France 8mm river boats, Versailles vintage home movie, French patrol boat footage, and 1960s government speedboat may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then Versailles or France 1962 footage, then broader 1960s waterways, boats, and public-security themes.
