Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s European leisure, summer swimming, and water-tourism sequences in documentary, museum, education, or period lifestyle edits.
Period detail: The swim trunks, dress clothing, glass-roof passenger boat, stone embankment, and 8mm color stock may show early 1960s holiday and public-waterfront details.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged home-movie value in its casual view of swimmers gathering at the water and tourists passing by on a sightseeing boat.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include shirtless swimmers, a stone quay, dark blue water, a brief woman in a dress, leafy shade, and a glass-topped passenger boat filled with seated tourists.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, visible grain, warm color, slight exposure variation, and contact-sheet framing that give the scene a candid physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, transition, or memory beat linking summer heat, public swimming, and sightseeing on the water.
Historical context: The footage documents everyday leisure around a French waterway, with swimming and boat tourism appearing side by side in a short home-movie observation.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness and privacy review may be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright status is separate from visible-rights review.
Research search match: Researchers might search for 1962 8mm Versailles swimming, France summer home movie, men diving from embankment, or vintage tour boat footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with Versailles or France material from 1962, then with broader 1960s summer leisure and sightseeing scenes.
