Lions Club Parade Float with American Flag — Clip Details

CANNES FRANCE-1962: A vibrant 8mm home movie captures a Lions Club parade float in Cannes. Women in 1960s dresses wave from a decorated float featuring a large lion statue and the text 'DISTRICT 22' and 'APPROCHEMENT 22'. The float is adorned with American and Swedish flags, and the Lions Club logo is visible. Men in light-colored suits march alongside, carrying a large American flag. The footage shows natural film grain and color fading typical of vintage Super 8 home movies, offering authentic archival footage for documentaries, historical projects, or nostalgic content.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s Cannes parade coverage, civic-club pageantry, and editorial inserts needing real 8mm street-procession footage.
Period detail: Visible clues include pastel dresses, light suits, parade bunting, national flags, a Lions Club emblem, and a float marked District 22.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot feel, watching marchers and float riders pass from street level rather than staging the action.
What appears in frame: The frames show a decorated float, a lion statue, women waving, American and Swedish flags, a Lions Club emblem, suited marchers, bunting, and spectators.
Film character: Soft focus, faded color, uneven exposure, gate edges, and handheld framing give the 8mm scan a physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief parade insert, civic celebration cutaway, travel-memory beat, or transition within 1960s European street footage.
Historical context: The footage shows a public parade in Cannes with international flags and Lions Club imagery, suggesting civic or service-club participation.
Research note: People and faces are visible, and the Lions Club emblem and flag imagery may require separate likeness, trademark, or contextual review depending on use.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1962 Cannes 8mm parade footage, Lions Club float, American flag street procession, and 1960s European home movie.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel shots, then other Cannes 1962 street scenes, then broader 1960s parade, civic-club, and international-flag footage.
