Clear Lake California-1939: Woman Walking Along the Lake Shore

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

1930s California lakeside home-movie footage for documentary, museum, educational, or editorial sequences needing a quiet visitor moment by the water.

Period detail

The woman's sailor-style collar, light cardigan, wide dark trousers, and the black-and-white 8mm look may show late-1930s casual resort or lakeside clothing.

Home-movie behavior

The clip preserves an unstaged moment as a young woman walks slowly near the shoreline, sometimes turning toward the camera and sometimes facing the lake.

What appears in frame

Visible details include a woman in a light sweater, dark trousers, open lake water, distant shoreline, small dock or pier, bench-like structure, and heavy film frame edges.

Film character

The footage has soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure, and handheld framing consistent with original 8mm home-movie material.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a brief memory beat, lakeside cutaway, travel insert, or transition between broader Clear Lake or 1930s leisure scenes.

Historical context

The scene offers a small social view of informal lakeside recreation, with the camera focused on a single woman rather than public events or landmarks.

Research note

A recognizable person may be present, so likeness and privacy review may be needed; copyright and location rights should be assessed separately.
