Woman Aboard Suez Canal — Clip Details

SUEZ CANAL EGYPT-1946: A woman with dark curly hair and a light blue bow is shown in profile against a greenish-blue water backdrop, wearing a light blue top with dark straps. Her expression shifts subtly as she looks forward. The scene transitions to a wide shot of the Suez Canal, with calm blue water stretching toward a distant horizon between sandy banks under a clear sky. Shot on 8mm film, this vintage home movie captures a moment of quiet travel and serene waters, with natural film grain and color fading characteristic of mid-20th century amateur footage.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s documentary or educational edits needing home-movie views of travel on the Suez Canal with a visible passenger and canal waters.
Period detail: The 8mm color image, clothing, hair bow, and shipboard canal view support a mid-1940s travel-film reading without identifying a specific vessel or landmark.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged travel perspective, moving from a close passenger profile to a visitor's view down the canal between sandy banks.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a light blue top, a pale hair bow, dark straps, green-blue water, broad canal surface, sandy banks, distant vessels, and clear sky.
Film character: The footage shows soft 8mm focus, visible grain, slight color fading, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that give it physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief travel insert, a personal-memory beat, or a transition from human presence aboard a boat to the wider canal landscape.
Historical context: The frames place an individual traveler against canal water and desert banks, offering social context for civilian movement through Egypt in archival home-movie form.
Research note: A recognizable adult face appears, so likeness and contextual use should be reviewed separately from any copyright or source-material licensing questions.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1940s 8mm Suez Canal footage, Egypt canal travel home movie, woman passenger on boat, and vintage waterway travel scenes.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel travel shots, then other 1946 Suez Canal or Egypt material, then broader boat, canal, and mid-century travel footage.
