Men in White Robes Standing on Boat Deck at Suez Canal — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1946, this vintage footage captures men in traditional white head coverings and robes standing on the deck of a boat at the Suez Canal in Egypt. The sun-drenched scene shows workers in period attire near the water's edge, with ropes and ship rigging visible against the blue water. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1940s Suez Canal boat-deck footage for documentary sequences needing everyday maritime activity and local workers or passengers near canal waters.
Period detail: White head coverings, robes, ropes, railings and open deck surfaces may show mid-20th-century canal boat activity in Egypt.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a candid visitor-shot viewpoint, observing men on and beside the vessel without staged action or formal posing.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include men in white head coverings, pale robes, a boat deck, ropes, railings, rigging, sunlit surfaces and blue water.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, warm faded color, heavy grain, gate edges and slight exposure variation that give it physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, travel insert, transition beat or contextual detail within a Suez Canal or maritime sequence.
Historical context: The footage offers visual context for daily movement around a canal vessel, with local dress and deck work seen from a private camera perspective.
Research note: People are visible, so likeness and cultural-context review may be needed in addition to separate copyright or footage licensing checks.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1946 Suez Canal 8mm footage, Egypt boat deck home movie, men in white head coverings by water, and vintage canal workers.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1946 Suez Canal or Egypt footage, then broader maritime labor and travel material.
