Woman by Ocean and Calendar Flip — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from India in 1946 captures a woman with dark curly hair blowing in the wind as she stands near the ocean. She wears a light-colored collared shirt, her profile shown in soft focus against the water and sky. The scene transitions to a close-up of hands holding a 1946 calendar, flipping from June to July, with a pencil marking dates. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 film grain, color fading, and natural movement, evoking a personal, nostalgic moment from mid-20th century India.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s India home-movie requests needing a brief personal coastal portrait and dated calendar cutaway for documentary or museum chronology sequences.
Period detail: The visible 1946 calendar pages and period color 8mm texture support the 1940s date, while the coastal setting remains broadly identified as India from supplied metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an informal personal moment, with a woman standing in wind near the sea and hands deliberately showing calendar pages to the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in profile, windblown curly hair, ocean horizon, pale sky, June and July 1946 calendar pages, hands, and a pencil.
Film character: Soft focus, muted color, visible grain, gate edges, and slight handheld instability give the footage a scanned 8mm home-movie character.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a memory beat, date marker, coastal portrait insert, or transition between personal footage and mid-1940s chronology.
Historical context: The images suggest private travel or family filming in coastal India, with the calendar providing a visible temporal reference without identifying the people shown.
Research note: Faces and hands are visible, so likeness review may be needed; copyright, privacy, and any location permissions should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1946 India home movie, 8mm woman by ocean, windblown hair portrait, vintage calendar close-up, and June July 1946 footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other India 1946 material, then broader home-movie clips about calendars, coastal portraits, and personal memory.
