Tiger In Enclosure Viewed From Car With Film Artifacts — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1971, this vintage home movie captures a drive-through wildlife experience at Yellowstone National Park. The footage, viewed from inside a car, shows a tiger near a water feature, with the vehicle's side mirror visible in the foreground. The clip exhibits classic Super 8 film characteristics: warm color shifts, grain, and light leaks, including prominent purple artifacts. The final frames are overexposed and abstract, showing a yellow-tinted silhouette and blank frames, reflecting the original film's condition and age.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s home-movie requests needing Yellowstone-area wildlife-tour material, in-car visitor perspective, or abstract film-leader texture for documentary edits.
Period detail: The metadata supports a 1971 Yellowstone, Wyoming setting, while the visible frames mainly show aged 8mm color, car-window framing, and overexposed end-of-roll imagery.
Home-movie behavior: The clip carries an unstaged visitor-shot viewpoint from inside a vehicle, with framing and exposure shifts that preserve the casual home-movie encounter.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a warm outdoor scene, black film-frame borders, a pale blank frame, yellow silhouettes, water or reflective ground, dust, scratches, and light leaks.
Film character: The scan shows strong 8mm texture through grain, gate edges, color fading, light leaks, dust marks, and heavy overexposure in the later frames.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief wildlife-park insert, a memory beat from a road trip, or an abstract transition into aged home-movie material.
Historical context: The footage reflects a 1970s tourist filming practice in which roadside or drive-through animal encounters were recorded informally from a car.
Research note: People are flagged visible and the later silhouettes may require likeness review, while copyright, location, and any property issues should be checked separately.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1971 Yellowstone home movie, 8mm wildlife park footage, drive-through animal enclosure, and overexposed film artifact frames.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with other 1971 Yellowstone or Wyoming travel footage, then with vintage wildlife-tour and film-artifact material.
