A Woman Playing With A Dog On The Grass — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1967, this vintage home movie captures a woman in a patterned short-sleeve shirt and light pants playing with a small dog on a grassy yard. The scene unfolds in a backyard with a wooden fence and tree branches visible, bathed in bright sunlight that casts a distinct purple and blue color cast typical of aged film. The woman bends down to interact with the dog, then stands and walks toward the camera, her movements captured with the natural grain and slight instability of Super 8 footage. This authentic slice of mid-60s Americana evokes nostalgia and is ideal for documentaries, editorial content, or retro-themed projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm home-movie yard footage suited to documentary or editorial requests for everyday leisure, pets, and informal suburban family life.
Period detail: The clothing, 8mm color stock, backyard fencing, and metadata-supported 1967 Tucson setting place the scene within mid-1960s American home-movie material.
Home-movie behavior: The woman bends toward a small dog and then stands near the camera, giving the clip an unstaged domestic interaction typical of family-shot home movies.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a patterned short-sleeve shirt, a small dog, grass, a wooden fence, tree branches, bright sun, and heavy film-edge shadows.
Film character: The scan shows strong grain, high contrast, uneven exposure, handheld framing, and a purple-blue color shift that reads as aged 8mm archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief memory beat, pet interaction cutaway, domestic-life insert, or transition within a 1960s family or Americana sequence.
Historical context: The clip shows an informal backyard moment in Tucson, reflecting everyday home filming of pets and adults rather than a public event or identifiable landmark.
Research note: A visible adult face and private yard setting require likeness and property-context review, while copyright and personal-release status should be checked separately.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1967 Tucson 8mm home movie woman dog, 1960s backyard pet footage, and vintage family film woman playing with dog.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent material from the same reel, then other 1967 Tucson home movies, then broader 1960s backyard, pet, and family-leisure footage.
