A Group Of Men On A Boat At The River Near The Mountain — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from Miami, Florida, 1956, captures a group of men on a small boat fishing on a calm river. The footage shows close-ups of a man in a hooded jacket and glasses, followed by wider shots of three men in a motorboat near a wooded shoreline. One man stands holding a fishing rod while another uses a net, with the boat moving slowly through the water. The film exhibits classic Super 8 grain, color fading, and natural lighting, evoking a nostalgic, authentic mid-century American outdoor recreation scene.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1950s editorial requests for authentic American home-movie footage of adult men fishing from a small motorboat on quiet water.
Period detail: The clothing, small outboard boat, fishing gear, and faded 8mm color may show mid-century outdoor recreation consistent with the supplied 1956 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged home-movie feel, moving between a close view of one man and wider views of companions fishing from the boat.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include adult men, a small motorboat, fishing rods, a landing net, an outboard motor, calm water, and a wooded shoreline.
Film character: The footage shows soft 8mm grain, color fading, uneven exposure, gate edges, and handheld framing that give it physical-film archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, cutaway, or memory beat for mid-century leisure, fishing trips, friendship, or outdoor recreation.
Historical context: The scene visually documents a small group of men fishing together from a boat, offering social context for informal leisure captured by a home-movie camera.
Research note: Adult faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, and copyright, location, and personal-release status should be checked separately.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1950s 8mm fishing boat, Miami home movie fishing, men in motorboat, vintage river recreation, and mid-century outdoor leisure.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with Miami or 1956 outdoor scenes, then with broader vintage fishing and boating material.
