Two Men In A Boat On A Lake With An Outboard Motor — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1956, this vintage home movie captures two men in a small wooden boat on a calm lake. One man in a red shirt and overalls stands while the other, wearing a plaid shirt and hat, tends to a small outboard motor. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s Miami-area recreation requests needing brief home-movie footage of men boating or tending an outboard motor on calm water.
Period detail: The small wooden boat, work clothes, outboard motor and faded 8mm color may show mid-1950s leisure or fishing activity in South Florida.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the informal, unstaged handling of a boat and motor, with one man standing casually while another works near the stern.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two adult men, a small boat, calm lake water, an outboard motor, a hat, overalls, a plaid shirt and bright daylight.
Film character: Soft focus, visible grain, faded color and slight handheld framing give the short scene a clear physical 8mm home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a cutaway, transition or memory beat for mid-century boating, fishing, lakeside leisure or Florida home life.
Historical context: The clip documents everyday recreational activity rather than a named event, with clothing and equipment suggesting a mid-century home-movie setting.
Research note: Faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright status is separate from subject clearance.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1956 Miami 8mm boating footage, vintage men in small boat, outboard motor home movie, lake fishing recreation and mid-century Florida leisure.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with 1956 Miami or Florida water scenes, and then with broader boating, fishing or lake recreation footage.
