Two Women With Their Hoods Up Are Out For A Walk In — Clip Details

BARABOO WISCONSIN USA-1953: Two women in vintage 1950s attire walk through a dense forest, their hoods up against the cool air. One wears a bright red coat with a green hood, while the other is in a dark jacket with a fur-trimmed hood and a red-and-white checkered shirt. They move along a wooded path, passing a rustic log cabin, their expressions relaxed and engaged. Shot on 8mm film, this authentic home movie captures the natural beauty of the Wisconsin woods and the casual charm of a mid-century outdoor outing, with rich colors and classic film grain.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s 8mm home-movie footage for documentary or educational edits needing a brief outdoor walking scene with two women in wooded Wisconsin surroundings.
Period detail: The coats, head coverings, checkered shirt, and 8mm color stock support a mid-century home-movie reading consistent with the supplied 1953 Baraboo metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The women appear relaxed and aware of the camera, creating an unstaged family-outing moment as they move and pause along a wooded path.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two women, raised hoods, a red coat, a fur-trimmed dark jacket, autumn woods, a path, and a rustic log structure.
Film character: The clip has saturated 8mm color, soft focus, visible grain, handheld framing, and uneven exposure typical of scanned home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short memory beat, seasonal cutaway, or transition into mid-century outdoor recreation and family travel material.
Historical context: The scene documents casual women’s outerwear and leisure walking in a wooded setting, without enough visual evidence to identify a specific park or landmark.
Research note: Faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, and copyright clearance should be considered separately from personal or property rights.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1950s women walking in woods, Wisconsin home movie forest path, 8mm family outing, and mid-century hooded coats outdoors.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1953 Baraboo footage, then related 1950s wooded walks, cabins, and outdoor family scenes.
