Grand Canyon Arizona-1972: Two Bears Wrestle In The Water As The Other Bear Naps

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

1970s 8mm animal footage for documentaries needing a brief zoo, wildlife park, or roadside family-travel insert with bears at water.

Period detail

The frame may show a 1970s visitor-view enclosure, with a concrete-lined water channel, grassy bank, tall trees, and a distant road with cars.

Home-movie behavior

The clip carries an unstaged visitor-shot perspective, watching bears move, rest, and play from across the water.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include a walking adult bear, two smaller bears in shallow water, a resting bear on grass, concrete banks, trees, bright sun, and distant cars.

Film character

The 8mm scan has soft focus, visible grain, slight motion blur, high daylight contrast, and the contact-frame rhythm of handheld home-movie filming.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a short cutaway, travel-memory beat, animal behavior insert, or transition within a 1970s family-trip sequence.

Historical context

The scene reflects a period tourist encounter with captive or managed wildlife, while the exact facility design and bear species are not identifiable from the frames alone.

Research note

No people, faces, logos, or readable brands are visible, but copyright, location permissions, and animal-facility context should still be reviewed before use.
