Camden New Jersey-1962: Recording Of People With Long Coats Exiting Building

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

1960s Camden home-movie footage of formally dressed people exiting a building, useful for documentary inserts about everyday public gatherings and street-level social scenes.

Period detail

The long coats, suit and tie, curbside cars, and color 8mm look support an early-1960s setting, with Camden, New Jersey and 1962 supplied by clip metadata.

Home-movie behavior

The camera stays close and handheld as people pass by, preserving an unstaged observer's view of faces, coats, and movement at the building entrance.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include close faces, long coats, a suit and tie, a building doorway, sidewalk or parking-area edges, grass, and parked or passing cars.

Film character

The clip has soft 8mm color, visible grain, uneven exposure, and abrupt handheld framing that give the short scene a physical home-movie texture.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a brief cutaway, transition, or memory beat for people leaving a public or private gathering in the early 1960s.

Historical context

The footage shows formal outerwear and mid-century cars in a cool-weather social setting, without enough visual evidence to identify the building or occasion.

Research note

People and recognizable faces are visible, so likeness and context review may be needed; no logos, music, or clear branded property are evident in these frames.
