Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm home-movie lake swimming footage suited to documentary requests for mid-century summer recreation, vacation memory, or beach-and-water cutaways.
Period detail: The one-piece swimsuit, color 8mm texture, and informal beach framing may show early-1960s leisure style consistent with the supplied 1962 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the casual, unstaged wading and camera-aware gestures of adults spending time in shallow lake water near a sandy shore.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two adults in the lake, a sandy beach edge, rippled water, a wooded far shoreline, bright sky, and handheld framing.
Film character: The footage has saturated color, visible grain, soft focus, gate edges, and slight handheld instability typical of scanned 8mm home movies.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, summer-memory transition, recreation cutaway, or atmospheric beat within a family or regional history sequence.
Historical context: The clip offers a small-scale view of outdoor leisure and swimwear at a lake setting without supporting claims about a named beach, event, or institution.
Research note: People are visible, so copyright, likeness, and contextual use should be reviewed separately even though no logos, brands, or private property are apparent.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1962 8mm lake swimming, Camden New Jersey home movie beach, vintage adults wading, and mid-century summer recreation footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Camden or 1962 material, then broader 1960s beach, lake, vacation, and swimming scenes.
