Saint Louis Missouri-1959: A Businessman Working In The Office

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for requests needing 1950s Saint Louis office life, mid-century business work, or documentary cutaways of desk-based paperwork and clerical routines.

Period detail

The white dress shirt, patterned tie, eyeglasses, paper desk work, and dim office setting may show mid-century professional workplace details.

Home-movie behavior

The short home-movie view observes a man working at his desk without staged gestures, preserving small movements of writing, reading, and leaning over papers.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include a seated man, white shirt, tie, eyeglasses, desk papers, dark office furniture, and a second partially seen figure behind him.

Film character

Black-and-white 8mm texture shows soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure, and slight frame instability that read as original small-gauge film.

Edit role

An editor could use this as a brief insert, workplace cutaway, or memory beat between narration about business, paperwork, or mid-century office routines.

Historical context

The clip visually situates office work as seated, paper-based, and personal, with a quiet interior rather than a public corporate setting.

Research note

Faces and a private interior are visible, so likeness and property considerations should be reviewed separately from copyright status.
