New York City-1958: Two Ladies Sitting At A Table Eating Ritz Crackers And

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

1950s New York City home-movie footage suited to documentary requests for quiet domestic dining, women at a kitchen table, or mid-century everyday life inserts.

Period detail

The tabletop, cracker box, plates, cups, and window-lit interior may show late-1950s domestic detail without enough visible information to identify the residence.

Home-movie behavior

The value is in the unstaged pause of two women sharing food at a table, with faces partly silhouetted and the camera observing casually from inside the room.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include two seated women, a window, plates, cups, a cracker box, tabletop items, dark interior walls, and strong daylight outside.

Film character

The 8mm image has heavy grain, soft focus, uneven exposure, and handheld blur that give the scene a physical home-movie texture.

Edit role

An editor could use this as a brief domestic cutaway, memory beat, or transition into a sequence about family meals, visiting, or private interiors.

Historical context

The clip gives a small social view of women eating together indoors, framed through household objects rather than formal posing or public activity.

Research note

People and a private interior are visible, so likeness and property review may be needed; any product packaging should be checked separately from footage copyright.
