Pretty Young Woman With Pearl Earrings And A Blouse Smiles — Clip Details

A young woman in a 1950s-style dark blouse and pearl earrings smiles warmly while adjusting a light pink rose boutonniere on her lapel. Shot on 8mm film in 1958, this vintage home movie captures a candid moment of joy and elegance, likely from a special occasion. Her short, styled dark hair and red lipstick reflect the era's fashion, with soft natural lighting and authentic film grain enhancing the nostalgic feel. The background shows a white-paneled house exterior, grounding the scene in a quiet, domestic setting.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s home-movie requests needing a close, domestic portrait of a well-dressed young woman for documentary, museum, education, or period lifestyle edits.
Period detail: The pearl earrings, short styled dark hair, red lipstick, dark collared blouse, and rose corsage may show late-1950s dress and grooming for a special occasion.
Home-movie behavior: The woman smiles toward the camera and appears to adjust or display the rose on her lapel, giving the clip an informal family-filmed portrait quality.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a young woman, pearl earrings, dark collared blouse, pale rose corsage, white exterior siding, doorway, window, and strong daylight shadows.
Film character: The 8mm footage has soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure, handheld framing, and contact-print-like frame edges that preserve a physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a personal memory beat, period fashion insert, domestic occasion cutaway, or transition into a 1950s family gathering sequence.
Historical context: The footage visually places feminine dress and social presentation in a mid-century domestic setting without identifying the event, household, or individuals.
Research note: People are visible, so likeness and privacy review may be needed; no logos or audible music are evident, but copyright and personal rights remain separate checks.
Research search match: Research matches include 1958 New York City 8mm home movie woman smiling, 1950s pearl earrings corsage blouse, and vintage family occasion portrait.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then with 1958 New York City home movies, then with clips of 1950s fashion, corsages, family gatherings, or domestic exteriors.
