Children and Adults Gather on Dock to Swim — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1958, this vintage home movie captures a sunny summer day at a lake in New York City. A wooden deck extends over the water where several people in classic swimsuits gather, some standing and others preparing to jump. Children and adults swim and play in the lake, with a young girl in a pink swimsuit visible in the foreground. The footage features natural film grain, slightly faded colors, and a nostalgic, candid feel typical of mid-century home movies. The scene evokes a sense of community and carefree summer recreation.
