Two Women Sunbathing On A Patchwork Blanket — Clip Details

Two women sunbathe on a colorful patchwork blanket in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1974. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures a relaxed summer day with one woman in a striped bikini top and purple bottoms, the other in a patterned one-piece swimsuit. They sit on the grass, basking in sunlight, with a blue sunblock bottle nearby. The warm, slightly faded colors and natural film grain evoke authentic 1970s home movie nostalgia. This vintage 8mm home movie is ideal for documentaries, editorial content, or nostalgic projects about mid-century American leisure.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s 8mm home-movie footage for productions needing a brief summer leisure insert with women sunbathing in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Period detail: The swimsuits, patchwork blanket, sunblock bottle, and warm 8mm color may show casual mid-1970s backyard or lawn sunbathing style.
Home-movie behavior: The women sit and shift casually on the blanket, giving the clip an unstaged home-movie record of relaxed outdoor leisure.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two women, a patchwork blanket, grass, swimsuits, bare legs, sunlight, shadows, and a blue sunblock bottle.
Film character: The scan shows soft 8mm grain, faded warm color, strong sunlight contrast, and slight handheld framing typical of amateur home movies.
Edit role: Editors could use this as a short memory beat, seasonal cutaway, or transition into themes of summer, leisure, health, or 1970s domestic life.
Historical context: The clip reflects ordinary outdoor recreation and tanning culture in a private-feeling but unidentified lawn setting, without visible landmarks.
Research note: People and a possible branded sunblock bottle are visible, so likeness and trademark review may be needed in addition to copyright licensing.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1970s women sunbathing 8mm, Fort Wayne Indiana home movie, summer leisure footage, and vintage tanning scene.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then Fort Wayne 1974 material, then other 1970s summer leisure or sunbathing clips.
