Forest Fire Burning with Palm Trees and Distant Town Below — Clip Details

MAUNA ULU HAWAII-1971: A dramatic 8mm home movie captures a forest fire with intense orange and red flames illuminating the sky above a tropical landscape. Palm trees are silhouetted against the blaze, with their reflections visible on the water below. The footage transitions to a distant view of a small town nestled at the base of a mountain, showing houses and vegetation under a hazy, smoke-filled sky. The film exhibits classic Super 8 grain, color fading, and scratches, conveying a raw, archival feel of a historic event.
