Camden New Jersey USA-1964: 2 Ladies And A Man Standing On The Rocks Next To A Waterfall

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Suits documentary and educational productions seeking mid-century American leisure footage, specifically 1960s family outings at natural settings in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Period detail

Short-sleeve summer attire, glasses visible on the man, and the film's characteristic blue color cast are consistent with early-to-mid 1960s amateur home movie conventions.

Home-movie behavior

An unseen family member directs subjects at the waterfall, capturing candid smiles and natural movement rather than posed stillness, typical of amateur 8mm family documentation.

What appears in frame

Two women in summer tops, a bespectacled man in a blue short-sleeve shirt, a cascading waterfall, a wet rock face, green foliage, a wooden rail, and film grain visible throughout.

Film character

Pronounced blue-purple color cast, high contrast between bright waterfall spray and shadowed foreground figures, and visible grain give the footage its authentic 8mm period texture.

Edit role

Works as a memory beat or cutaway insert in a documentary on 1960s American family life, mid-century leisure, or regional Mid-Atlantic history.

Historical context

The casual outdoor outing at a local waterfall reflects mid-century American leisure patterns, when family day trips to natural sites were a common postwar suburban summer activity.

Research note

Adult faces are clearly visible and identifiable in multiple frames; likeness rights should be assessed before commercial use, and copyright provenance as an amateur home movie should be verified.

Researchers may find this via searches for 1960s family outing footage, mid-century American leisure, New Jersey home movie, or 8mm waterfall summer scene.

Archive pairing path

Pair first with other clips from the same reel or Camden NJ 1960s materials, then with Mid-Atlantic outdoor leisure footage from the same decade, then with 8mm family summer outing clips broadly.
