Family Picnic Gathering in Wooded Area — Clip Details

COLD SPRINGS NEW YORK USA-1963: A vintage 8mm home movie captures a family picnic gathering in a wooded outdoor setting. People in 1960s casual attire, including patterned shirts and dresses, sit at tables covered with white cloths, sharing food under the shade of tall trees. The scene transitions from daylight to a dimly lit evening, with folding metal chairs and a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere. Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s archival requests needing a brief family picnic or casual outdoor gathering in upstate New York home-movie footage.
Period detail: The clothing, folding metal chairs, picnic tables, and 8mm color stock may show early 1960s leisure habits and informal summer dress.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves unstaged family behavior, with adults seated and standing around picnic tables before a shift to a darker evening view.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include tall trees, white table coverings, seated adults, casual patterned clothing, folding chairs, food service items, and a shaded building area.
Film character: The 8mm scan has saturated color, visible grain, soft focus, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that support its home-movie character.
Edit role: Editors could use it as a memory beat, family-gathering insert, picnic cutaway, or transition from daytime outdoor activity to evening socializing.
Historical context: The footage offers visual context for informal mid-century family recreation, showing people gathering outdoors around food and portable seating.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate from appearance rights.
