Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1960s documentary or educational requests needing a brief exterior view of a small Colorado county jail filmed from a passing home-movie perspective.
Period detail: The barred windows, plain institutional facade, white picket fence, and roadside framing may show mid-century county infrastructure as seen in 1962 home-movie footage.
Home-movie behavior: The clip carries a visitor-shot passing viewpoint, with the camera moving by the jail rather than presenting a staged architectural record.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a yellow-beige jail building, barred windows, white picket fence, roadside sign, partial parked car, grass strip, and dark frame edges.
Film character: The 8mm image has soft focus, visible grain, slight motion blur, greenish color shift, and uneven exposure typical of scanned small-gauge home movies.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short establishing insert, roadside transition, institutional cutaway, or memory beat within a Colorado or small-town history sequence.
Historical context: The footage visually places a county jail within a modest roadside civic setting, without documenting activity inside or identifying any individuals.
Research note: The jail name is visible as signage, so users should review location, property, trademark, and contextual rights separately from footage copyright licensing.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1962 Colorado county jail exterior, Clear Creek County Jail home movie, 8mm small-town civic building, or vintage roadside jail view.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then 1962 Colorado or Summit-area footage, then broader small-town government building and roadside travel material.
