Summit County Colorado USA-1962: Old Woman Waving in Parking Lot with Classic Cars

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fits 1960s Americana documentary requests: a casual portrait of a mid-century American woman against period automobiles, suitable as a personal-memory or travel insert shot.

Period detail

Large-finned American automobiles (including what appears to be a white late-1950s/early-1960s Cadillac) and cat-eye spectacles suggest early-1960s dating, consistent with the stated 1962 metadata.

Home-movie behavior

The woman smiles and waves directly at the person holding the camera, marking this as an informal family or vacation record rather than any staged production.

What appears in frame

Woman in floral dress and white cardigan, patterned handbag, large-finned white American automobile, dark blue sedan, man in green jacket, brick commercial building, paved parking area, and leafy trees.

Film character

Kodachrome-style color palette with visible grain and mild fading imparts an authentic mid-century look consistent with consumer 8mm colour stock of the early 1960s.

Edit role

Works as a character-establishing cutaway, period street-level insert, or warm personal-memory beat in a 1960s Colorado or mid-century American road-trip narrative.

Historical context

A parking lot lined with large-finned American cars reflects the peak of the tail-fin era in US automotive design and the road-trip leisure culture of early-1960s middle-class America.

Research note

An identifiable adult face is prominent throughout all usable frames; no minors or legible brand logos detected; editorial use should be assessed and a model release is not available for archival footage.
