Picnic Table In Summer — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1962, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched picnic table in the Catskill Mountains. A yellow tablecloth covers the wooden bench, with scattered items suggesting a family meal. A metal trash can sits nearby, and lush green trees frame the scene under a bright sky. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain, slight camera shake, and natural color fading, evoking a nostalgic summer day. This authentic slice of Americana is ideal for documentaries, editorial content, or nostalgic storytelling.

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s Catskill summer inserts, family picnic context, or quiet outdoor Americana cutaways in documentary and editorial edits.
Period detail: The frames may show mid-century leisure details through a cloth-covered picnic table, metal trash can, simple outdoor rail, and warm 8mm color.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged home-movie viewpoint, lingering on a prepared picnic table rather than a posed subject or formal event.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a yellow tablecloth, wooden picnic table, small table items, metal trash can, dark railing, grass, trees, and bright sky.
Film character: The 8mm scan carries soft focus, visible grain, warm faded color, slight exposure variation, and handheld framing typical of home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief cutaway, summer transition, picnic insert, or memory beat between family or travel scenes.
Historical context: The scene suggests casual outdoor recreation in the Catskill area, with no visible people or identifiable public landmark in these frames.
Research note: No people, faces, logos, or obvious private property are visible, but copyright, location, and object identification should still be reviewed.
