People Ice Skating on Frozen River — Clip Details

HAGERSTOWN MARYLAND USA-1961: A vintage 8mm home movie captures a group of people ice skating on a frozen river or pond. The footage, shot in the early 1960s, shows individuals in winter coats and hats gliding and stumbling on the ice, with some falling and others watching from the bank. The scene is set against a backdrop of bare trees in a wooded area, with a distinct purple-blue color cast and high contrast typical of aged film. The grainy, low-light quality and dark borders suggest a personal, nostalgic recording of a winter pastime.
