Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s American home-movie requests needing casual backyard recreation, family leisure, or amateur sport footage for documentary inserts.
Period detail: The white cap, high-waisted dark shorts, open lawn, and 8mm color stock support a mid-century home-movie setting in Nevada as described by metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an informal catch game, with the man turning, handling the ball, and briefly acknowledging the camera in an unstaged backyard moment.
What appears in frame: Visible details include a shirtless man in a white cap, dark blue shorts, a white ball, mown grass, dense trees, strong sunlight, and a distant childlike figure in one frame.
Film character: The footage has saturated 8mm color, soft focus, visible grain, slight exposure variation, and contact-print framing that add authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, memory beat, or transition for mid-century leisure, family recreation, summer yards, or informal sport.
Historical context: The scene reflects ordinary outdoor leisure in a residential-looking green space, without visible brands, public landmarks, or formal sporting context.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are visible, and copyright status remains separate from appearance releases.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1961 Nevada 8mm backyard catch, 1960s home movie man throwing ball, and vintage American family recreation footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then Nevada 1961 home movies, then broader 1960s backyard recreation or family sports scenes.
