Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1960s 8mm home-movie footage of poolside leisure in Calcutta for documentary, museum, education or period lifestyle edits.
Period detail: The kidney-shaped pool, white lounge chairs and casual swimwear may show mid-century private leisure patterns in a warm-weather domestic or club setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged home-movie value, observing people relaxing and moving near a pool from an elevated, informal vantage point.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a curved swimming pool, pale pool deck, lounge chairs, seated or standing people, dark vertical shade, planting and a palm-like tree.
Film character: The footage carries a blue-purple color cast, soft focus, visible grain, dust specks and slight handheld framing consistent with scanned 8mm home movies.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, transition or memory beat for mid-century summer leisure, expatriate domestic life or poolside recreation.
Historical context: The scene records private or semi-private leisure in Calcutta in 1962 without identifying the people, property or social setting beyond what is visible.
Research note: People are visible, so likeness review may be needed; copyright, location and property permissions should be assessed separately before commercial use.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1960s Calcutta poolside home movie, 8mm swimming pool leisure, vintage India summer footage and mid-century lounging by pool.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1962 Calcutta material, then broader vintage poolside, summer leisure or home-movie scenes.
