Illinois USA-1962: Person Sitting On Stones By River Shore

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fits archival requests for everyday 1960s American leisure or Midwestern riverside settings in documentary, nostalgic, or regional history productions.

Period detail

The large, dark-bodied automobile on the shore is consistent with early-1960s American car styling; light summer clothing and 8mm film texture support the 1962 metadata date.

Home-movie behavior

The shot is taken from across the water, a typical amateur approach to capture a family member resting on a riverbank during a summer outing.

What appears in frame

Rocky gravel shoreline, seated figure in light clothing, dark vintage automobile, dense summer tree line, calm reflective river, bare branches in foreground, and visible 8mm film borders.

Film character

Visible 8mm film borders, moderate grain, a slightly cooled and faded color palette, and soft exposure give the footage an authentic mid-century home-movie texture.

Edit role

Works best as a contemplative cutaway or memory-beat insert in documentary sequences evoking 1960s American summer leisure or Midwestern everyday life.

Historical context

The rocky riverside setting, large American automobile, and casual summer dress reflect ordinary middle-class leisure culture in the early 1960s Midwest.

Research note

At least one person is visible but appears small and distant; standard editorial caution applies for identifiable individuals; no visible vehicle registration or signage.
