Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s editorial projects needing visitor-shot footage of a Southern California marine animal show or mid-century leisure attraction.
Period detail: The white trainer uniforms, red Marineland backdrop, pool platform and 8mm color palette support the 1962 home-movie setting noted in the clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The elevated, slightly distant framing suggests a visitor filming from the audience during a staged sea lion routine rather than a controlled production setup.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a pool edge, wet concrete stage, trainers in white, sea lions on platforms, a ball prop, red fencing and a Marineland sign.
Film character: The clip has soft 8mm detail, visible grain, mild color fading, gate edges and handheld framing that preserve the texture of an original home-movie scan.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, nostalgic cutaway or location-identifying beat in a sequence about marine parks, family tourism or animal shows.
Historical context: The footage shows mid-century public entertainment centered on trained marine animals, as viewed by an amateur camera from the audience area.
Research note: People and the Marineland signage are visible, so copyright, trademark, likeness and venue-related uses should be reviewed separately before publication.
Research search match: Searches for 1962 Los Angeles Marineland sea lion show, 8mm marine park footage, vintage animal trainer performance or California home movie may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then with 1962 Los Angeles or Marineland material, then with broader vintage marine animal show footage.
